Eryka Berglund is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over seven years of experience. She received her Master’s Degree in 2017 at Western Illinois University where she studied Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Eryka has extensive experience working with a variety of diagnoses and symptoms including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, schizoaffective disorder, ADHD, insomnia, adjustment disorder, prolonged grief disorder, psychosis, suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self injury and others.
Eryka uses a combined approach utilizing:
Person-Centered Theory: Eryka combines empathy, understanding, and evidence-based techniques to support her clients on their healing journey. She is known for her non-judgmental approach with all clients.
CBT: Eryka incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy into her work to challenge and reduce self-defeating thought patterns, while also developing effective ways to cope with our emotions and develop self-compassion.
DBT: She is also trained in dialectical behavior therapy which is helpful for those that struggle with intense emotions, suicidal thoughts/self harm, and relationship conflict by learning emotion regulation skills and mindfulness techniques.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): EMDR, a highly effective approach for trauma resolution, is a cornerstone of Eryka's therapy. By integrating EMDR into her treatment, she helps clients process traumatic memories and reframe negative beliefs, leading to lasting healing and relief from traumatic experiences.
